About Cynthia Cochran Kinard

 Cynthia Cochran Kinard is a Portrait Artist who specializes in the beautiful medium of watercolor portraits. While Cynthia has been painting from a very early age, her professional career of painting commissioned watercolor portraits began more than fifteen years ago. She brings quite a bit of expertise to her chosen field and is skilled in rendering a dry-brush technique which brings to her portraits a very detailed, almost photographic feel.

Legacies in portraiture are created through individual portraits, family portraits, corporate portraits, character portraits, posthumous portraits, children's portraits and pet portraits and all of these portraits are rendered using archival materials.

Cynthia holds a BA degree in Art from Western Carolina University and has continued her studies of the old masters, especially Rembrandt, since that time. Her most recent studies took place in Florence, Italy under Maestro Michael John Angel at The Angel Academy of Art. While there, she studied 16th and 17th Century Portrait Painting Techniques and has since added oil paintings to her body of work, utilizing these same techniques.

While Cynthia's works have been shown in numerous galleries in the Southeast she has, also, gained acceptance into both National and International exhibits and has won a number of awards.
